When making a booking with us, we require a small deposit (usually about 2 weeks' rent), and no other pre-payments are required until the month before you move in.   

Our team on site are available over the phone or in person 7 days a week, 24/7. Our staff are all mental health first aid trained and equipped with the skills to support you, making sure you feel as happy and comfortable as possible during your stay with us.  

Our residents’ safety, well-being, and comfort are our core focus at Scape, and, as such, our buildings reflect this. We know it can be a bit daunting moving to a new city, especially if it’s your first time living away from home—and even more so if you’re moving to a new country. We have a fully trained member of staff present on-site 24/7, CCTV and secure access doors on the outside and inside of the building. You'll always see a friendly face at reception—the site team is there to support you in any way they can by making sure all our residents feel safe, respected, and aware of their rights within our happy environment at Scape.

When choosing your university student accommodation and place, you have a few different options, depending on what year you are in. There are many rental properties on the market and lots of listings to work your way through, along with plenty of research to do! We want to make your decision a little easier by providing you with a curated list of the best options available.

If you are going into your first year of university, typically your choice is between university halls and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as a Scape property. University halls are a great option for many for student housing, but they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities, and it can be very difficult to get an en-suite room – which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six people. At Scape, on the other hand, we have a selection of room types. But all our rooms (from en-suites to studios to shared apartments) come with an en-suite bathroom as standard. Our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you have access to a range of amenities, including an on-site gym and cinema room. When compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces are of a higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7. 

In second or third year, you will most likely no longer have the option of living in student halls, but you do have the option to move into a private residence such as a flat or sharing a house with friends. With this option, there is no guarantee of an en-suite room. Typically, private accommodation rented to students is not of the highest quality, your bills won’t be included, and you have no staff support. 

You could instead choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including not having to worry about bills, getting your communal areas cleaned regularly, and becoming part of a vibrant student society where you can network, discuss different topics, and make lasting connections   

If you are entering your postgraduate studies in London, we know that searching for places can be tricky and finding affordable accommodation near your university can be a challenge. Many postgraduates prefer more privacy, and we offer the opportunity to enjoy that through our studios and apartments across all our London locations, close to major campus locations as well, ensuring you have the perfect environment to focus on your education or business aspirations.   

All our buildings in London and Leeds are in great neighborhoods with fast transport links across the city. If being close to your campus location is important to you, we’d recommend Scape Bloomsbury or Kings Cross, both of which offer easy access to major universities, study hubs, your lectures, teaching facilities, and personal development opportunities. 

Scape Bloomsbury (Best Option)    

• Distance: ~10-minute walk (0.5 miles)    

• Why? Closest Scape property to ULaw, making daily commutes quick and convenient.    

• Facilities: 24/7 reception, gym, cinema room, study spaces, social events.    

Scape Kings Cross    

• Distance: ~15-minute walk or 8-minute bus ride (~1 mile)    

• Why? Offers a more exclusive feel, premium studios, and access to all Scape Bloomsbury amenities.    

• Facilities: Cosy communal lounge, garden room, access to Bloomsbury gym & cinema.    

Scape Shoreditch    

• Distance: ~25-30 minutes by public transport    

• Why? A good option for students who prefer a trendier, more social area while still having an easy commute.    

That’s down to personal preference. All our buildings feature the same amenities and benefits: en-suite rooms, a range of room types to choose from, thoughtfully designed premium shared spaces, excellent facilities including study zones, a gym, a cinema room, bike storage, and regular socials and events. Unsure which building to choose or need any guidance? We recommend booking a tour to see the buildings in person. If you’re based overseas, we also offer video tours. Whatever your requirements, we’re here to help you find the perfect space. Our properties also include secure policing measures to make sure your safety and peace of mind, with staff undergoing regular training to provide the best possible support.  

Once you have chosen the right room for you, it's easy to book. You do it via the website or contact the sales team on live chat or email bookings.uk@scape.com to secure your room. Booking via the website takes just 10 minutes to complete. For the first step of the booking process, you must select room you wish to book. Choose the booking period, floor you wish to book. Once you're happy to proceed, you need to create a Scape account and fill in your contact details. Then review and sign your tenancy contract—this is your official statement of agreement—and pay the booking fee along with a 2-week advanced rent payment. Your booking is then confirmed.    

If you don't want to miss out on your perfect room but need a few days to think about it, we'd recommend putting a room on hold. This can be done by selecting your ideal room, creating a Scape account, and submitting your contact details. We will then take the room off the market, giving you the chance to finalize your decision and allowing you up to 72 hours to complete the final steps of the booking journey. You will receive an email confirming your room choice has been saved, along with details on how to start the next stage of your booking process.  

During this holding period, there are no additional fees, but if you decide to proceed, you will need to complete the final steps, which include paying the booking fees. We will also email you confirming the results of your reservation, your name, and any important news related to your booking. We will notify you of the available room levels or floor options in your preferred building, based on your status.

Transportation around London is important to understand. You will get very familiar with the tube map! The most common mode of transport is the tube, which connects all our rentals to the best schools and neighborhoods in the city. Buses are another cheaper method of transport for those who are a little more price sensitive. Understanding these transport options can help you navigate the city with ease, and for individuals whose first language isn't English, the transport system is well-signposted in English, making it easy to follow for all students.
