When choosing your university student accommodation and place, you have a few different options, depending on what year you are in and what your needs are. Be it your campus is epsom or farnham, there are many rental properties on the market and lots of listings to work your way through, and it’s easy to get lost along the way. But don’t worry—we’ve got your back! We’re here to make your decision a little easier by providing all the information and guidance you need to find the perfect place that suits your lifestyle and budget

If you are going into your first year of university, typically, your choice is between university halls and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as a Scape property. University halls are a great option for many for student housing, but they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities, and it can be very difficult to get an en-suite room – which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six people. University dormitories offer a classic experience but often lack premium facilities – many don’t guarantee en-suites, meaning shared bathrooms with up to six people. At Scape, on the other hand, we have a selection of room types. But all our rooms (from en suites to studios to shared apartments) come with an ensuite bathroom as standard. Our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you have access to a range of amenities, including an on-site gym and cinema room. When compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces are of a higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7. 

In your second or third year, you will most likely no longer have the option of living in student halls or a dormitory, but you do have the option to move into a private residence such as a flat or share a house with friends. With this option, there is no guarantee of an en-suite room. Typically, private accommodation rented to students is not of the highest quality, your bills won’t be included, and you have no staff support, which can lead to communication issues with landlords or property managers. You could instead choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including seamless communication with our on-site team, not having to worry about bills, and getting your communal areas cleaned on a regular basis. 

Once you have chosen the right room for you, it's easy to book. You can book via the website, search for available rooms, or contact the sales team on our enquiry chat or email bookings.uk@scape.com to secure your room. Booking via the website takes 10 minutes to complete. For the first step of the booking process, you must select the booking period, floor you wish to book, and occupancy. Once you're happy to proceed, you need to create a Scape account and fill in your contact details. Then review and sign your tenancy contract and pay the booking fee along with a 2-week advanced rent payment. Your booking is then confirmed.

If you don't want to miss out on your perfect room but need a few days to think about it, we'd recommend putting a room on hold. This can be done by selecting your ideal room, creating a Scape account, and submitting your contact details. We will then take the room off the market, allowing you up to 72 hours to complete the final steps of the booking journey. You will receive an email confirming your room choice has been saved. 

During this holding period, there are no additional fees for any applicants, but if you decide to proceed, you will need to complete the final steps, which include paying the booking fees and meeting any additional requirements, such as submitting proof of ID or student status. We will also send you an email confirming the results of your reservation. 

You couldn’t live any closer to campus if you tried. For proximity to lectures, Scape is less than a 30-minute bus ride or a 20-minute train journey from the UCA Farnham campus. It is also a great location for UCA Epsom, as the commute time takes about 30 minutes by direct train.  

With all the things you need—like an on-site gym, cinema room, and several communal spaces—Scape offers a perfect balance between convenience and comfort while you focus on your studies.

We know it can be a bit daunting moving to a new city, especially if it’s your first time living away from home — and if it’s not just a new city, but a new country you’re moving to. That’s why we have CCTV and secure access systems on the exterior and interior of the building. You'll always see a friendly face at the reception — the site team is there to support you in any way they can, helping all our residents feel content in the happy environment at Scape.
