How easy is it to travel around Shoreditch?
Living in the heart of zone 1 means travel is super convenient, your commute to uni will be quick. Shoreditch is a transport hub, with access to national rail services and the northern tube line via Old Street underground station. The Overground is within easy reach via Shoreditch Highstreet station - a 10-minute walk away from Scape Shoreditch. There are also several bus routes on your doorstep. Liverpool Street station is also nearby.
If you fancy venturing a little further afield, great neighbourhoods like Hackney, Dalston and Islington are on your doorstep.
How fast is my commute to university?
Your commute to campus will be easy from Scape Shoreditch. With a mix of mainline trains and tube lines, you’ve got quick access to the whole city and any University of London campus.
Travel to UCL main campus within 20-minutes via the northern tube line. If you’re based out of UCL East or London College of Fashion, the Stratford campuses are also easy to get to on public transport. Bayes Business School & City university campus are within a 10-minute walk from Scape Shoreditch. UAL campuses are all within easy reach via the underground, as well as Central St Martins.
What is there to do in Shoreditch?
Shoreditch is the capitals creative playground. Simply walking around the area, you’ll get a feel of the art and culture that Shoreditch has to offer; from graffiti and murals to art exhibitions and displays, you can spend an entire day in the area, taking in some creative inspiration or simply just some art admiration. As well as it’s art, Shoreditch has a lot to offer, from trendy stores, pop-up markets to vintage collections.

Where can I go shopping in Shoreditch?
Whether you’re looking to update your wardrobe, re-style your room or simply need to top up on some essentials, there’s a host of stores to do your shopping nearby. For your high street retailers, Commercial Street is the place to go, with Urban Outfitters, Uniqlo and other fashion retailers available to go to.
Off from there is Spitalfields Market, where you’ll find independent stores and stalls amongst a range of food stalls too. A few minutes' walk and you’ll be on Brick Lane, famous for its vintage markets and unique boutiques offering a range of items for window shoppers to indulge in.
For your essentials you also have the choice of 4 supermarkets and grocery stores very near to the station.
Where are the best places to eat in the neighbourhood?
Whatever food you fancy, whatever hour of the day, Shoreditch is the place to find it. Famous for its curry establishments, Brick Lane has a range of restaurants to choose from, with a variety of different cuisines available. It also hosts the renowned 24hour Beigel shop where you can have a snack in the early hours of the morning, and the Breakfast Club where you can have breakfast for dinner!
Elsewhere, there’s plenty of options with more well-known restaurants such as Pizza Express, Flat Iron and Nandos all near Scape Shoreditch. If you fancy expanding your pallet, check out some food markets in the area, including Spitalfields, Whitecross Market and Truman Brewery Markets. You’ll find a whole selection of cuisines from around the world, so make sure you come with an empty stomach!
Where can I go for a night out in Shoreditch?
When it comes to nightlife, Shoreditch doesn’t disappoint. A reflection of its diverse culture, Shoreditch has a venue to suit everyone's tastes, from jazz and hip hop to speakeasy and rooftop bars. Popular places include Nightjar, a live jazz venue just around the corner from Old Street Old station, and Ballie Ballerson, an adult style playpark with bars surrounded by ball pits. Taking your night out to a whole new level.
If it’s the club scene you’re after, Shoreditch has plenty of those to try out too. Voted in DJ Mags Top 100 venues, XOYO is a popular venue for club goers, as are Cargo and Barrio Shoreditch. Smaller, more intimate venues include Old Street Records and The Book Club.

What type of rooms can I choose from?
If you're looking for a place on your own, Scape Shoreditch could be right for you. The property is made up of studios, with a choice of sizes to rent. We have a number of different sized private apartments and studio options.
Unlike uni halls and student houses or students flats, you don't have to share. It is worth knowing that every london studio comes with a private bathroom, kitchenette and a double bed.
What communal spaces are there at Scape?
There are communal spaces to bring everyone together as well as secluded spots for you to relax, recharge and study. Our communal areas include, spacious lounges, games area, communal kitchen and bar, cinema, fully equipped gym, study booths, pods and meeting rooms. Enjoy views across the London skyline from the multiple landscaped terraces. There is also a laundry room (using circuit laundry machines), secure bike storage and a reception team available 24/7. All floors can be accessed via stairs or lifts.

Do you host regular events?
Yes, we host weekly events which are a mix of on-site events and activities around the city. From Friday night hangouts to Superbowl screening, swap shops, and getting competitive with go-karting. Most events are free to join. For some off-site events there are limited spaces and there is a low-price set to secure your spot.
