How is Scape different to other accommodation providers?
When choosing your east London student accommodation, you have a few different options, depending on your year of study. If you are going into your first year of university, the most popular options are to choose between university halls and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as Scape. University halls are a popular choice for many, but the accommodation available tends to be quite basic in terms of facilities and room finishes and furnishings. It can also be difficult to get an en-suite room – often the room you are assigned with is part of a flat with shared bathrooms.
Unlike lots of university accommodation, at Scape, we can guarantee you, your own bathroom, as all our rooms and studios are en-suite as standard. All our communal areas are premium spaces and newly refurbished, and you have 24/7 access to our range of facilities such as an on-site gym and cinema room. When compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces and facilities are of a higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7, including a maintenance team at each property.
In second or third year you will most likely no longer have the option of living in QMUL halls, but you do have the option to move into private accommodation such as a private flat or house share with friends. With this option there is no guarantee of an en-suite room. Typically, private accommodation rented to students is not of the highest quality, your bills won’t be included, and you have no staff support. You could instead choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including not having to worry about bills and getting your communal areas cleaned on a regular basis. With the energy prices soaring this winter we can confirm your room price is fixed for the duration of your contract and will not increase with a rise in energy prices.
If you are looking to continue to studies at QMUL as a Masters or Postgraduate student our Mile End property is positioned on Queen Mary campus, and has a range of large Studios available, perfect for private study, and great proximity to all campus facilities.
How do I decide which Scape building is right for me?
That really comes down to which area you would like to live in and how close you want to be to your university campus. All our residencies include the same benefits: en-suite rooms, a range of room types to choose from (including a studio), thoughtfully designed spaces with students in mind, modern communal spaces. Plus, excellent amenities including study zones, gym, cinema room, laundry, secure bike storage, regular socials and events.
We recommend booking a tour to come and experience the space for yourself and discover your next student home. If you’re based overseas, we do also have video tours available. You can book via the website or for more information, email bookings.uk@scape.com
