Visit FAQWhat do I need to bring when I move in?
Your room will come fully furnished. This includes all the core furniture like mattress, kitchen appliances, desk chair, and built in storage. The room won’t include bedding, or kitchen equipment like pots and pans. Check out our checklist for move in day.
Can I live with friends?
Yes, a twin apartment is a great choice if you want to live with a friend. For the twin apartment you can book it at the same time. If you want to make sure your group of friends live in the same flat reach out to our sales team bookings.uk@scape.com to help organise a group booking.
What is the payment schedule?
When you book to live with us, you can choose to pay upfront, or in instalments. If you select to pay by instalments, we do ask for an instalment payment each term. For residents moving in September, your first instalment and damage deposit will be due ahead of check in day. With your second instalment due In January, and your third instalment due around Easter.
To book a room at Scape Bloomsbury we require a 28 day upfront payment. This is later deducted from your rent.
Are there any bills that I have to pay?
Unlike traditional student housing, you do not have to worry about variable energy prices and the annoying task of setting up utility suppliers. At Scape all utility bills are included in your rent. This includes Wi-Fi, water, heating and electricity.
Who will I live with if I book one of the beds in a twin apartment?
Our two-person twin rooms are always single gender. We try our best to match pairs based on university courses and other demographics like year of study. We have found moving in with a stranger, they are never a stranger for long. Most residents make firm friendships with their roommates.
How do I meet other people in the building?
The best way to meet other residents is by attending our regular events. Unlike other student halls, we also host regular events that are often free to you. These events range from grab and go breakfast, to social mixers, summer parties and offsite events.
Are there any bills I must pay for?
We have laundry facilities onsite; this is run by circuit and there is a small payment needed per load. Otherwise, everything is included.
