What makes Scape different?
When selecting your student accommodation, you have several options depending on your year of study. With numerous rental properties and listings to consider, finding the right place can require a lot of research—but we’re here to simplify your decision-making process.
For first-year students, the typical options are university halls or purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) like a Scape property. While university halls may be suitable for many, they are often basic in terms of facilities and finding an en-suite room can be challenging, meaning you might have to share a bathroom and kitchen with up to six
people. At Scape, however, every room—from en-suites to studios and shared apartments—comes with an en-suite bathroom as standard. Our shared spaces are premium, newly refurbished, and come with a range of amenities, including an on-site gym and a cinema room. Compared to other PBSAs, we offer the most central and convenient locations, higher-quality shared spaces, and fully trained staff on-site 24/7.
In your second or third year, university halls may no longer be an option. You may consider moving into a private flat or sharing a house with friends. However, private accommodation often lacks en-suite rooms, includes no bills, and offers little to no staff support. Alternatively, you could choose to stay at Scape in a larger apartment with friends and continue to enjoy all our amenities, including inclusive bills, utilities and regular cleaning of communal areas.
For postgraduate students in London, we understand that finding affordable and conveniently located accommodation can be challenging. Many postgraduates prefer the privacy of a studio or an apartment. At our London locations, we offer comfortable and private living arrangements to suit your needs.

Which Scape should I live in if I study at SOAS main campus?
All our buildings in London are in great neighbourhoods with fast transport links across the city. If you're studying at SOAS University of London’s main campus in Bloomsbury, Scape Bloomsbury is the most convenient option, which is a 5–10-minute walk from campus. This proximity allows you to save time on commuting and quickly access classes, libraries, and campus facilities. Russel Square tube is also just around the corner for quick access to the rest of London.
Another nearby option is Scape Kings Cross, which is about 15-20 minutes by public transport or a 25-minute walk. It offers modern amenities in a vibrant area with excellent transport links.
If you prefer East London's creative vibe, Scape Shoreditch will be a good choice for you, with a commute of approximately 25-30 minutes by public transport.
What's it like being a student in London?
Being a student in London while studying at SOAS and living at one of our Scape buildings is an exciting experience. Scape's prime locations, such as Scape Bloomsbury or Scape King's Cross, make it possible for you to be within walking distance and well-connected to the rest of London.
London itself is a vibrant, multicultural city with opportunities for learning, exploration, personal growth, diverse academic courses and master's programs. Iconic landmarks like the British Museum and Covent Garden are just a short walk from SOAS, while the city's extensive public transport system makes it easy to explore other neighbourhoods.
How do I decide which Scape building is right for me?
That’s really down to personal preference. All our buildings feature the same amenities and benefits: en-suite rooms, a range of room types to choose from, thoughtfully designed, premium shared spaces, excellent facilities including study zones, gym, cinema room and bike storage and regular socials and events. How much support will I have at Scape?
We know that moving to a new city, especially if it’s your first time living away from home, can be daunting. We're not just on of the accommodation options. That’s why we choose our onsite teams carefully and make sure that they are fully trained to support our residents in any way they need. Our buildings aren’t just places to sleep, eat and study; they’re communities. You will get to meet other students from across the globe. We have residents living with us from: India, Malaysia, Norway, South Africa, Ethiopia, China, Saudi Arabia and Singapore just to name a few.
Our resident managers and site teams take the time to get to know residents and there will always be a member of the Scape team available onsite, 24/7 for a chat or a helping hand.
