When choosing your university student accommodation, you have a few different options depending on your year of study and your needs. We have a lot of rental properties on the market, many listings to work through, and plenty of research to do! We want to make your decision easier.     

If you are entering your first year of university, your accommodation choice is typically between university halls and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as a Scape property. University halls are an excellent option for many for student housing. Still, they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities. It can also be difficult to get an en-suite room – which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six people. At Scape, we have a selection of room types for you to choose from. But all our rooms from en suites to studios to shared apartments come with an en-suite bathroom as standard. Our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you can access a range of amenities, including an on-site gym and cinema room. Compared to other PBSAs, we have the most central and convenient locations, our shared spaces are higher spec, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7.     

In the second or third year at Imperial College London, you will most likely no longer have the option of living in student halls, but you can move into a private residence such as a flat or share a house with friends. With this option, there is no guarantee of an en- suite room. Instead, you could choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including not having to worry about bills and getting your communal areas cleaned regularly.

Imperial College's main campus is in South Kensington, easily accessible via multiple public transport options, such as the London Underground (Circle, District, and Piccadilly lines), numerous bus routes, and cycling paths. You can use your Oyster card for seamless travel across all public transport options. 

Students commuting from our Scape buildings, like Canada Water, Shoreditch, or Mile End, Hammersmith, will find the locations are also well-connected to the Imperial main campus, with convenient navigation options via public transport, cycling, and easy access to Oyster card-supported services. Additionally, you'll have access to a variety of nearby restaurants and bars, providing plenty of options for dining, socializing, and enjoying the nightlife. Scape Kings Cross: The nearest station is King's Cross St. Pancras, which provides excellent transport links. It's about a 20-minute Tube ride to South Kensington via the Circle or Piccadilly lines. 

Scape Bloomsbury: Close to Russell Square station on the Piccadilly line, with direct transport links to South Kensington, taking roughly 15 minutes. 

Scape Shoreditch: Located near Old Street station on the Northern line, with good transport links to South Kensington, it’s a 25-minute commute. 

Scape Canada Water: The closest station, Canada Water, is accessible via the Jubilee line and London Overground, providing convenient transport links. It takes about 30 minutes to commute to South Kensington. 

Scape Hammersmith: With excellent transport links, the commute to South Kensington is around 15-20 minutes by subway or bus, making it an ideal location for Imperial College students seeking easy access to campus while enjoying the amenities and vibrant community at Scape Hammersmith.

Yes, we do have some accommodation available of shorter periods of time. Keep an eye on live availability on our website. At Scape Hammersmith and Scape Canada Water, we offer summer accommodation options. This includes studio and en suite student flats. This could be a great option for you if you are planning to spend your summer in London on a summer course, program or internship. You can expect the usual friendly hospitality and service from our site team.  

Why can I not book an en suite room directly at Scape Hammersmith? 

Imperial College London is one of our many institutional partners. If you wish to book an en suite room at Scape Hammersmith, you need to apply directly through the university. There is no guarantee your application will be successful. If you want to be sure of a booking, we have a range of studios available at Scape Hammersmith that you can book directly with us. Or there is a range of en suite rooms available at nearby Scape buildings.
