When choosing your GSA uni student accommodation, you have a few options, depending on your year. If you are entering your first year of university, your choice is typically between university halls and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), such as Scape. University halls are a great option for many for student housing. Still, they tend to be quite basic in terms of facilities, and often, you have randomly selected a room regardless of your preferences. Getting an en-suite room can be very difficult – which could mean sharing a bathroom with up to six others.
At Scape, on the other hand, all our rooms are en-suite as standard, our shared spaces are premium and newly refurbished, and you can access excellent facilities such as a state-of-the-art on-site gym and cinema room. Compared to other PBSAs, our shared spaces and facilities are of a higher standard, and we have fully trained Scape staff on-site 24/7.
In your second or third year, you will likely have limited options if you wish to live in halls on the Surrey University campus, but you can move into private accommodation such as a flat or live in a house shared with friends. With this option, there is no guarantee of an en-suite room either. Typically, privately rented student houses are not of the highest quality, your bills won't be included, you may have a tricky landlord, and you have no staff support. You could instead choose to live in one of our large apartments with friends and continue to enjoy all the benefits that Scape offers, including not having to worry about bills and getting your communal areas cleaned regularly.
