What to bring when moving into Scape

A list of things we'd recommend bringing for your very first day at Scape after you check in.

The countdown is on and soon you’ll be staying in the best student accommodation in the city, congrats!

We can’t wait for you to get here. Your room will be all furnished and ready, you just need to bring a few everyday essentials. Everything else you can get when you arrive. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby and our 24/7 reception will keep your online shopping safe, so you don’t need to squeeze everything into your suitcase.

To help you pack, here’s a list of things we’d recommend bringing for your very first day at Scape after you check in.

Important Documents

01

Important Documents

The most important thing to pack is your paperwork. Keep all your important documents in one folder and pop this into your hand luggage so it’s easy to find.

For check-in, don't forget to bring:

  • Proof of ID like your passport/ driving license

  • Proof that you're a student like your university documents and acceptance letters

  • Student finance documents

    Other useful items:

  • National Insurance card

  • Bank account details and bank cards

  • Passport photos

  • Railcard and discount cards

  • Prescriptions and other important docs

Bedding and Pillows

All our rooms at Scape come with comfy double beds. You just need to bring along some bedding for your first night’s sleep. You’ll have plenty of time to personalise your room afterwards.

  • Bed sheet

  • Duvet cover and blanket

  • Pillow and pillowcase

03

Toiletries

Toiletries

Pack a few basic toiletries and pick up the rest when you get here. If you’re on any medication, this should take priority.

  • Toilet roll

  • Soap

  • Bath towel

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Deodorant and hairbrush

You can always get shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, razors and other personal care items from the shop, so save some space and only bring what you can’t live without. It’s a good idea to have a toiletry bag or shower caddy to keep everything organised.

Kitchen Essentials

Kitchen Essentials

You’ll need a kettle, toaster and kitchen utensils, but you can always get these after you’re checked in. It’s easy enough to order a cookware set off Amazon. Just bring along some basic supplies for a quick meal or a cuppa tea.

  • Plate and bowl

  • Mug

  • Cutlery

  • Small pot or pan

If you’re sharing a kitchen, it’s better to hold off on buying anything until you get here. Your flatmates might want to go halves or have stuff you can share. Remember to bring your bank card or cash so you can grab some groceries or a bite to eat on your arrival. It’s a fact that your first meal in a new home always tastes better!

  • Rain jacket and umbrella to save you from getting soaked

  • Layered clothing like jumpers and cardigans

  • Sportswear so you can work up a sweat in our onsite gym

  • Comfy shoes like trainers and waterproof boots

  • Gloves, beanies, tights and scarves are lifesavers in winter

  • Sleepwear, underwear, and socks to last until your next wash

You’ll also want to bring some coat hangers for your wardrobe to stop your clothes from getting wrinkly.
