Granger & co
If it’s wholesome, easy-going Aussie food you’re after, look no further than Granger & Co on Pancras Square. Bringing a slice of coastal sunshine to Kings Cross, there’s just something about the breakfast and lunch here that feels like a laidback beach day. Along with their poached eggs, we can’t get enough of their fluffy ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter, sweet corn fritters and zingy salad bowls. There’s also botanical sodas, fresh smoothies, and cocktails to wash it all down. You can check out the Kings Cross menu here. Unfortunately, they don’t take bookings for brunch so you’ll probably have to queue a little while as it gets quite busy, but it’ll be worth the wait. Address: 7 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG

Morty & Bobs
We love a Kings Cross restaurant with a backstory. This delicious all-day dining spot in Coal drops Yard is named after the owner's grandfathers, who first started out the restaurant making grilled cheese sandwiches. As a nod to comfort food and family flavours, it’s one of the best brunch places in Kings Cross and the iconic grilled cheese recipe that started the whole thing is still served today. If that doesn’t get your mouth watering, the breakfast and lunch menu will definitely do. Think fried eggs with chilli butter, brioche bun cheeseburgers and everything bagels…The coffee is also excellent so be sure to get your fix and enjoy a stroll along the cobbled streets outside – there’s loads of lovely independent shops to browse. Address: 49 Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, N1C 4DQ

Dishoom
Let’s face it. No list of places to eat in London is ever complete without Dishoom. You might have guessed from the number of people lining up down the street to get in, but the Bombay breakfast and afternoon chai is the bomb. There’s a lot more to this Kings Cross restaurant than just curry. Their hearty breakfast menu includes spicy omelettes, chilli cheese toast, and bottomless date and banana porridge - which are all really yummy. But the real highlight has to be the naan rolls, each freshly baked in a tandoor and graced with a little cream cheese, chilli jam and fresh coriander leaves, then wrapped around your filling of choice. Whether it’s streaky bacon, fried egg or sausage you can’t go wrong. Top this off with a steaming cup of chai or breakfast lassi and consider it a day well spent. Address: 5 Stable St, London N1C 4AB
