With plenty of entertainment options from cultural hangout spots to comedy nights at the Apollo there are endless opportunities to explore the West of the capital. Hammersmith is a great base for both local and international students who have just moved to the UK, this area offers the perfect blend of touristy attractions and local gems while still feeling nice and easy to get around without being too overwhelming! From theatres and arts venues to lively cocktail bars and some of the Capitals best shopping hubs, Hammersmith is a top choice to live, study, and unwind.

The River Thames is the perfect way to get some air and stretch your legs and reset in the outdoors. This is one of our favourite Hammersmith attractions to make the most of on your doorstep. Runners, walkers and cyclists can pound the pavements along the iconic Thames Path, which runs through Hammersmith with some of the best views in London, of the river and Hammersmith Bridge. It’s the perfect spot for a jog, a peaceful walk, or even a spot for lunch with friends. Plus one of the best bits is the regular placement of super cosy pubs like The Dove and The Blue Anchor, which offer a quintessential British pub pub experience. Grab your coat and mates and head out for a nice walk with a pint and chip stop!

This compact shopping centre has loads of the high-street brands, independent retailers, and even budget-friendly grocery stores for all your essentials. From grabbing a quick snack to browsing cute clothes bits, Kings Mall is perfect for students tight on time, who need convenience and variety without breaking the bank.

For the gym bunnies, you’ll have access to the 24/7 gym within the building, keep an eye out for our regular PT classes. But if you want to mix it up with some outdoor activities, the parks and riverside paths are ideal for running or cycling. Rowing clubs along the Thames is another option, why not take a look at signing up to some beginner-friendly sessions, so you can try something new and enjoy the iconic river scenery.

We are super excited to get stuck into life in West London in our brand new Scape Hammersmith location. This is student living just 20 minutes from Imperial College London, 35 minutes from Westminster and 25 minutes from Roehampton. Get stuck into the best that the West offers you from fun cocktail bars, beautiful river walks, arts and cultural activities to shopping till you drop in some of the most iconic malls in the capital.
